It’s official! October is here, and the days are getting shorter. I hope you’ve been enjoying this newsletter, because we’ve got so much coming up in the next few months!

Did you hear the buzz? 🎶 The Sound of Music completely sold out every single show at the BeeKay Theater after more than 4 months of rehearsals. Locals loved it so much, many went back a second time! What a true testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire cast and crew.

Yummy spotlight

Fresh Tomato Soup

Tomato Soup

  • Tomato Soup

2 red peppers 

2 large tomatoes 

1 can tomato sauce

1 onion diced 

4 minced garlic cloves 

2 tbs olive oil

1 tsp pepper

1 tsp thyme 

1 tsp oregano 

1 tsp red pepper flakes

2 cups chicken broth 

Salt to taste 

Roast red peppers then place in a sandwich bag for 15 minutes to keep them cooking 

Heat in a pan oil the. Add garlic and onion. 

Add tomato red peppers broth herbs and spices

Cover and cook on medium low heat for 20-25 minutes. 

Let cool for a bit and blend.

Apple Festival

What you can expect at this year’s Tehachapi Apple Festival. Satutday, October 11th 10am - 6pm ONE DAY ONLY.

Start your day off with The Apple Dash 5K at 8am following the All American 5k route downtown starting at East C Street with a live DJ and warm up.

Register for the 5k here

Once finished head on over to downtown. But, don’t forget to stop at home to put on your favorite overalls, patch work jeans or candy apple red sweaters. There’s a costume contest for vendors, festival goers and our favorite apple dumpling kiddos.

Your first stop should be at the intersection of F and Green street where there will be a photo op for you and your family.

Grab some lunch and enjoy live music in Centennial Plaza.

Tehachapi

1. Brite Creek Farm
